Bridging Generations: Documenting a Family Founder’s Vision

Tugboat Institute® member Ashli Desai is the non-family President of Larry Walker Associates, a family-owned environmental engineering firm focused on water quality management. After founder Larry Walker stepped away, non-family executives took the lead while working to preserve the company’s culture and practices. This structure created challenges in communication and alignment between the family, leadership, and employees.

In this Summit 2025 talk, Ashli shares how she worked with the founder and the board to bridge these gaps and craft a unified vision for the future. She explains how that vision was communicated across the organization to ensure continuity and alignment.

Watch and be inspired to think about how you might strengthen alignment in your own organization.
