In the early 2000s, as Stockwell Elastomerics neared its 100th birthday, we found ourselves having the same conversation with our customers over and over: When are you opening a plant in China? For the first time since we’d been in business, even our largest customers weren’t asking only for better quality, a faster turnaround, or more engineering support. They wanted lower prices.

Stockwell Elastomerics is located in Philadelphia, and we design and manufacture precision rubber and elastomer components—particularly gaskets, cushioning pads, and specialty seals. We work closely with our customers to select materials, assist design, prototype components, and manufacture them, often for technically sophisticated products such as satellites, communications equipment, medical diagnostic equipment, analytical equipment, and high-performance specialty industrial equipment. We operate our own manufacturing facilities, and we’d always paid our American workers a fair and living wage.
